"I can see our house from here"

We took another trip to Tebay today to have a look at our Airstream. It's sitting there, serenely waiting in line for it's internal make-over. To be honest, it's not as bad as it looks in the pictures, it only needs our extras fitted and it's good to go! We're all aiming for a collection date of the 20th of December. That's the week after next! Cripes!

While we were there, Michael Hold (the head-honcho of Airstream Europe) let me have a go in his Land Rover Discovery. I've never sat in such a luxurious car! We took it for a drive, and It pretty much drove itself around while I had a kip in the back. In fact, "the back" is so big, I'm wondering of we could do without the Airstream and just live in a Land Rover instead.

It's a thing of beauty!!!!

I did the official Land Rover off road course in a Discovery 3 last year, amazing machine for over, under and through hill and dale.... needless to say I want one. And an Airstream to tow behind it.

Bon voyage, look forward to your travels.

Normally I'd quote Mark E, but I couldn't think of any Airstream-related Fall songs (must write and tell him), so it has to be the other poet Smith, Patti:

Every night before I go to sleep
Find a ticket, win a lottery,
Scoop the pearls up from the sea
Cash them in and buy you all the things you need.

Every night before I rest my head
See those dollar bills go swirling 'round my bed.
I know they're stolen, but I don't feel bad.
I take that money, buy you things you never had.

Oh, baby, it would mean so much to me,
Oh, baby, to buy you all the things you need for free.
I'll buy you a jet plane, baby,
Get you on a higher plane to a jet stream
And take you through the stratosphere
And check out the planets there and then take you down
Deep where it's hot, hot in Arabia, babia, then cool, cold fields of snow
And we'll roll, dream, roll, dream, roll, roll, dream, dream.
When we dream it, when we dream it, when we dream it,
We'll dream it, dream it for free...

Well, not exactly free. But hey, you get the general idea. Happy travels!

Simon & Emma,

Lovely to hear from you. Trust me, I know exactly how excited you are about your new toy! Keep looking at the blog and let's meet up if we're in the same area. Michael Hold is trying to persuade me to organise a get-together of new owners. To be honest, I won't take much persuading...

We will definitely be up for meeting-up when we have our new shining beauty!! We will keep an eye out to see where you are on your travels!

It would be great to organise a get together of all new owners as well. Do you know how many have been sold in the UK to date?

Simon & Emma,

I think that ours is number 25. I'll try to get the exact numbers off Michael Hold.

I've edited our profile so you can email me if you'd like to (It'll make organising that get-together MUCH easier...)
